Upon entering our office our receptionist will greet and welcome you as a member of our family! For the next few minutes, you will be asked to fill our patient forms in order to provide us with general information about yourself and your condition.
Following your paperwork, you will have a personal consultation with Dr. Annis to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, as well as potential treatment options. Your first visit is designed so Dr. Annis may learn more about you, your condition and your expectations as he determines whether Chiropractic care will meet your goals.
After your initial consultation, Dr. Annis will perform a complete Chiropractic examination- testing your reflexes, your ability to turn and bend, as well as other standard neurologic, orthopedic, postural, and physical examinations. Nothing will be done in our office without your consent.
Your specific condition may require us to take x-rays to get a full evaluation of your condition.. X-rays help us rule out more serious conditions and will assist us in developing the most effective treatment plan for you. Most people are amazed how x-rays hold the potential to identify their misalignments and degeneration thereby guiding current and future treatment goals..
Report of Findings
After discussing your history and your goals, examining your spine and reviewing any x-rays or tests, Dr. Annis will discuss his recommendations, including, if necessary, care from other health care providers. If Dr. Annis believes you will benefit from Chiropractic treatment, he will recommend and outline an appropriate course of treatment before you leave the office.
Patients will generally be provided with treatment at the conclusion of their first appointment. This may include spinal adjustments, Physical Therapy, and/or soft tissue or Deep Muscle Therapy. If at any time prior or during your course of treatment you have questions or concerns about the style of adjustment or therapy, please feel free to express any questions or concerns with Dr. Annis.
Prior to leaving, patients may be instructed on a wellness program to be conducted at home. This may include any or all of the following: Ice or heat application instructions, avoidance of certain activities or positions, potential home exercises and/or stretches. If you desire an overall wellness lifestyle, our team will work with you to create good habits and routines that will support your success. Every body is unique and different and therefore everyone requires a unique and customized wellness plan. The foundation of your lifestyle is maintaining healthy posture and good spinal alignment, eating a healthy diet, and potentially taking supplementation- while keeping your weight and stress under control. Your health is our primary concern!
